Natalie Grinham from the Netherlands and Mark Fuller from England are Prague open 2015 champions after today´s finals at Sportovní areál Hamr in Prague.
Women´s finals

Natalie Grinham won Prague open women´s title after very entertaining
final against Deon Saffery. First game was very close and both players had multiple
gameballs before Deon won it 16/14. Squash both players produced was of very
high quality, all 4 corners were visited all the time and local crowd was
applauding almost every rally. Next two games were very close but Natalie got
that little extra at crucial times towards ends of both second and third. In
the fourth she raced to 7/1 lead thanks to a few mistakes from Deon and
controlled the rest of the game. Deon saved one matchball at 4/10 but Natalie´s
forehand volley kill into the nick ended the match which was really
entertaining to watch.
Natalie Grinham: I mostly happy I managed to wear my t-shirt the right
way this time. It was a nice match to play. Deon is a very handy. She has a
great hold and sent me wrong way quite a few times. The third was quite
crucial. Happy I managed to get this one. I am happy I won my first PSA title
after having my second child.
Deon Saffery: It was always going to be a nice game. She is very hard to
play because you never know where the ball is going to go. When I thought I was
in the game she changed what she was doing so you can never get the rythm. She
is an experienced player and knows how to win matches. Next time.
Men´s semifinals

Men´s final was very different to women´s. We didn´t see so many boasts,
drops and holds but both players showed the local crowd how hard you have to
work to win a match in professional squash. We saw very long and patient
rallies with both players trying to work out openings to go short. Dougie got a
better start and was in the lead most of the first game but Mark scored four
points from 7/9 down to get the lead after 19 minutes. In the second it was
Dougie who scored four points in a row to get to 9/5 and equalized with 11/7
score. The third was very similar to second with Dougie scoring 5 points in a
row from 4/5 and although Mark came back to 8/9 Dougie was able to close it
11/8 to get 2/1 lead. Mark got a great start to the fourth when he raced to 5/0
lead and managed to keep the lead ? 11/7 and 2/2. The fifth was similar. Mark
got a great start with some very nice shots. He got to 6/2, 7/3, 9/5. He got
his first matchball at 10/6. Dougie saved three matchballs but was not able to
return a forehand drive which was glued to the wall and Mark could have started
to celebrate his first PSA title after 92 minutes of great battle.
Mark Fuller: It was fantastic week in Prague with a superbly organized
tournament. I have really enjoyed it. It was a really good match. Dougie fights
for every ball. So you have to keep playing and battling if you want to beat
him. I have played so many of these tournaments and seen so many people win
titles. It is fantastic feeling to finally win one myself. I need to make some
thank yous to a lot of people who helped
me with my squash over the last nine years. First of all my clubs Mainz in
Germany, Brest in France, Hallamshire, Hinkley, Nottingham University Squash,
Leicester squash club and Nottingham squash club. Need to thank my long term

Deon Saffery used her experience again to beat young Egyptian Mayar Hany.
After close first game she played very tight squash which did not give Mayar
anything to work with. Mayar was becoming more and more frustrated but regain
her composure to win the third. In the end Deon was able to keep the accuracy
to contain Mayar and force her to take too much risks which led to mistakes.
Natalie Grinham showed local crowd why she was world no. 2. Her
unorthodox game with lots of boasts and drops was very effective against young
Hana who is probably not used to this kind of game at all. The beginning of the
games were usually close but midway through each of the three games Natalie
used her experience and scored a few points in a row to close the games out.
Deon Saffery: In was a nice tidy game. I thought I kept my head together
and focused throughout the match. She is a nice player and if you let her she
can do a lot. My hold worked well when I rememberd I could do it. Nice to get
off court in four games. Looking forward to play the final.
Mayar Hany: She is a really good player and I thought I was going to play
better but I tried my best and she was much better than me. I was a bit close
but she knew how to close the game to her side. I am happy I reached the
semifinal and looking forward to come here next year.
Natalie Grinham: I played well but I don´t think she played as good as
she used to in the tournament. Obviously happy to win and be fresh for
tomorrow.
Hana Moataz: Today I didn´t really do my best. But she is way more experienced than I am. So I hope I can do better next time. But overall I am happy with my performance in the tournament. I am really looking forward for the rest of the season. I really had a great experience here.

First semifinal brought a surprise winner when 6th seeded Englishman Mark Fuller beat top seeded Dutchman Sebastian Weenink in three games. He played very solid and accurate squash and although Sebastian tried hard he was just a better player today.
Second semifinal did not go the way local crowd wanted. Dougie Kempsell and Jan Koukal played very long and patient rallies but Dougie looked more hungry today. He was in the lead almost all the time but Jan kept fighting. He saved three matchballs in the third but perfect forhand dying length Dougie hit was out of Jan´s reach and Dougie could start to celebrate his advance to tomorrow´s final.
Mark Fuller: I felt I played really well. Seb is a really good player. I have seen him beat really good players. To beat him 3/0 I am very happy with my result. Dougie beat me in the final in Geneva earlier in the year and I think tomorrow it will be very good match and I am really looking forward to it.
Sebastian Weenink: Everything I did he did a little bit better and some things much better. He was a better player today. I enjoyed Prague though. Thanks to Jan for having me in his house. I hope to return the favour soon.
Dougie Kempsell: I am pretty pleased with my performance. Especially to get through in 3 games after my last night´s match was so long. I am happy how I dealt with critical points in the games. I am really happy to win as my fiance is coming tomorrow to watch me play.
Jan Koukal: I was struggling to move today. Dougie was playing fast and took full advantege of that. He deserved to win today.

3 top seeded players and one qualifier reached tomorrow´s semis of
women´s part of Prague open. Deon Saffery had to use all her experience to stop
dangerous shots from Menna Nasser. Mayar Hany was just a little bit more
powerful and accurate than Sina Wall. Hana Moataz played very well to beat
Victoria Temple-Murray. Natalie Grinham was in control after a slow start
against Chloe Mesic.
Deon Saffery: I felt good on court, moving and hitting the ball well so
it was nice to get it over with in three games. I have never played her but
seen her play a couple of times and know she can put the ball away well. Tomorrow
will be interesting as I have never plazed Mayar so looking forward to the
challenge
Mayar Hany: It was a good match and she is a really good player. I was
not moving well at all. So I had to concentrate on my squash more so I don´t
have to move a lot. She is a really good player and I knew it was not going to
be an easy match but I am happy that I
managed to win 3:0. I am happy with my performance. LOOKING FORWARD TO THE
SEMIS.
Hana Moataz: It was a really tough match. I lost my concentration in the
third game. But I managed to be concentrated again and win the match. Victoria
is a really good player and I really enjoyed playing with her. I am really
looking forward to play in the semifinal tomorrow.
Natalie Grinham: Happy to get through with a bit slower start. I made too many errors in the first game and it took a while to get used to the court. But I played better after that.

Martin Švec put up a great fight against top seeded Dutchman Sebastian
Weenink and will certainly regret not using his 10/8 lead in crucial third
game. He had a good tournament and can take lots of positives from his today´s
performances. Sebastian will face Mark Fuller tomorrow after Mark beat Daniel
Poleshchuk in straight games. He played solid basic game which was just too
good for Daniel who was struggling a bit with his movement. Czech fans will
have someone to cheer for after Jan Koukal beat qualifier Nick Mulvey in
straight games. Jan played lot better then earlier today and was always in
control. He would be happy to win in less than half an hour after his tough and
long match earlier on. Especially as his opponent will be Dougie Kempsell who
had to fight very hard against Benjamin Fischer. He was able to save matchballs
in both fourth and fifth. Last match of the day was of course the longest one
so far with 99 minutes.
Sebastian Weenink: I think I made it a little bit hard for myself in this
match. Obviously Martin was playing well with good shots to the front. I was
lucky and happy to win the third game which was crucial. After that I increased
the tempo more and I could control the game. Happy to win two matches in one
day which is something I am not very used to. Looking forward to play tomorrow.
Mark Fuller: I think I played well. Really looking forward to tomorrow.
Should be a really good game.
Dougie Kempsell: I knew it was going to be a battle. I played him before
and I know he is very solid player. I didn´t play my best but I dug in when it
mattered. Just glad to get through in one piece.
Jan Koukal: I was really used to the court after my first match. And I was feeling better overall. Played better, moved better. Hopefully I saved some legs for tomorrow because whoever I play it will be a battle.

Most of the women´s first round matches went to
seeding with one exception when 8th seed Gina Kennedy was beaten by young
Egyptian Hana Moataz. Local hope Anna Klimundová did well to come back to win
the third against Victoria Temple-Murray but she regained her control in the
fourth to deny Anna place in the quarters. Top seeds got through but Deon
Saffery had to work hard against young Alison
Thomson. The closest match was between best friends Menna Nasser and Nada
Elkalaawy where Menna came back from being 7/10 down in the fifth.
Deon Saffery: I played her few times in league. We´ve
always had a nice game. She is a good runner and battles it out. I won by
playing basic tight squash but I used more energy than I would have liked.
Looking forwad to my match this evening.
Menna Nasser: It was really tough match. It was a bit
unlucky for both of us to play each other as she is my best friend. I am really
happy to come back in the fifth after being 7/10 down. I am happy for her to
come back after so many injuries. I hope I play more consistently this evening
as I was playing up and down.
Sina Wall: I was a good match. I am happy with my
performance. Start was a bit nervous. It is always like this in first match.
But I am happy to get through in three games.
Mayar Hany: I saw her play before in France. I knew
she is a good player. So I had to concentrate from the beginning. I was
focusing on playing my own game. I enjoyed playing with her and I feel it was a
good start to the tournament.
Victoria Temple-Murray: I felt like I was focused and
sharp to start with which allowed me to take control. Anna changed her game and
caught me out of position which I took time to adapt to. But once I did I felt
comfortable again to take the win.
Hana Moataz: She played in world junior championships so I knew that she was a
good player. I had to concentrate from the beginning. I´m really glad with my
performance today. Even though I lost my concentration in the third and she was
playing better that game.
Chloe Mesic: It is never easy to play someone from
the same country in international tournaments. We had a good match, quite
intense. She was playing better than yesterday. She was more relaxed. For me it
is a good start to the tournament. I like the courts here. I am ready for the
next round.
Natalie Grinham: Happy to win especially as I am more
than double her age. She is going to be a really good player in the future. As
all of the young Egyptians are.

Czech fans were pleased to see two local players
progress to the quarterfinals. One place was guaranteed as Jan Koukal played
Daniel Mekbib. Daniel came back after being 0/2 down and threatened Jan at the
beginning of the fifth as well. However towards the end the experience
prevailed over youth and Jan got through. Martin Švec pleasantly surprised
local fans by playing good squash and beating Swiss Jonas Daehler 3/1. Other
Swiss seed who lost was Patrick Miescher who was beaten in very close 4 games
by the only qualifier in the quarters Nick Mulvey. The only one of 3 Swiss
seeds who got through was Benjamin Fisher who beat the fourth Czech player in
the main draw Petr Martin 3/1.
Sebastian Weenink: ?I was
injured for a while so I am happy to be able to play pain free. I just try to
enjoy it. He played on a high pace, so I made sure he could not volley
everything. Happy to win in three, especially when you plaz another match on
the day.
Benjamin Fischer: ?A bit of nostalgia on court today, I haven´t played Petr since juniors. I played well in the first two games, was more dominant, but he started playing much better in the third and I didn´t manage to stay with him. I´m happy I pulled it together in the fourth tho, feel good for tonight ? look forward to playing Dougie.?

Petr was the only Czech player who made it to the main draw today. After
two very closely contested games with quite a few referee´s decisions he
managed to tire Phil a bit and was always in control after that. Peter beat 4th
seeded Antonio in three games to become probably the most unexpected qualifier
for the main draw. They will be joined by two Englishman Nick and Julian who
ended local hopes of having more Czech players in the main draw.
Petr Martin: ?My game plan was to tire my opponent as he is a bit heavy.
At the beginning I struggled to get the ball to the back of the court. Once I
managed to do that better I was in control. ?
Peter Kviečinský: ?After tough first round with Ondrej I felt quite well.
I started the match without even seeing my opponent before. First rallies we
were testing each other. After I found his weaknesses I started to use them and
I managed to win the match. First game I relaxed and played well.?
Nick Mulvey: ?I am happy to get through to main draw. Pleased with the
way I am playing. Much more confident in taking it short in my second match and
hope to take that through into my match tomorrow.?
Julian Tomlinson: ?I am very pleased to get through as I had two tough
matches against two really good local players. I am looking forward to my
tomorrow´s match which will be very tough (plays top seed Weenink).?

Women´s qualification finals went mainly to the seedings with only one minor upset. All four matches were hard fought and none of them was over under half an hour. Local crowd wanted Zuzana and Eva to do well but their opponents were just a bit too strong and deserved their places in the main draw.
Tessa Ter Sluis: I never played Marta before so I was curious and a bit nervous about how she will play. I was not playing really well at the beginning. Marta started really well. I made a lot of errors. So I tried to change my game and it seemed to work. I am really happy to be in the main draw.
Charlotte Delsinne: I am happy to get into main draw of my first tournament of the season. I was really nervous this morning but I managed to relax and play much better now. I got a good length which made it easier. Thanks to Enora and Chloe for the support.
Nada Elkalaawy: I am happy to get to main draw. I haven´t played a lot of tournaments last year because of Indry. The first game she played really well and I was a bit nervous. The court is hard to get used to. But from the second game I gained more confidence and started to play my game.
Hana Moataz: It is my 2nd PSA tournament. At the beginning I was very nervous. By the end of the first game I managed to concentrate and focus more on the game. She is way older than me and she is really good so I had to concentrate to win. I really enjoyed the match.

Local Czech players put seeded oponents under lot of pressure in first two matches but the experience of seeded tour players showed at the end. Marta came from 1/0 down to 3/1 with a bit more patient game than Denisa who made too many mistakes. Charlotte had to fight hard against Veronika who got a great start to the fifth game with 4/0, 5/1 and 6/2 leads but could not score after this and Charlotte came back to win 9 points in a row.
Eva was the first Czech player to make it to the evening´s final when she beat Eliška comfortably 3/0. She will be joined by her teammate Zuzana who created first upset by beating Katrina. First game was very close and hard fought but Zuzana was getting more and more control after that.

Petr created an upset when he beat top seeded Miroslav who injured his
knee in the second game and struggled with his movement. Phil was too good and
experienced for young Vojtech who is just 16. Antonio was in control for two
games and in the fourth but Marek did well come back and win the third. The
longest match so far was played between Peter and Ondřej. There was very little
between them for four games but Peter got a good start to the fifth and raced
away to evening´s finals.
Second session started with Ondrej being just too good for Filip. He won
easily in just 17 minutes. Julian won 3/1 against Petr who fought well and hit
quite a few nicks. Nick beat Jakub 3/1 after loosing the first easily. He was
the more patient of the two players after that. The last match was the most
dramatic so far. David (at 17 top Czech junior) created the biggest upset of
the tournament so far by beating second seed Remo. After 4 games which were
very close David got to 10/5 matchball in the fifth. Remo saved all 5 of them.
In the tie-break David was always ahead but Remo saved matchballs no. 6, 7 and
8 as well. However he was not able to save the ninth and David could celebrate
the best win of his young career.
David Zeman: ?I am lucky I won my first PSA match. It was tough match and I am happy to beat Remo as he is a good player. I was a bit lucky at the end when he saved so many matchballs but I am really happy I was able to finish the match and win.?
Czech squash association is running PSA tournament for men and women. Both tournaments are in M5 and W5 categories which means prize money is 5000 USD for both categories. The tournament is played in Sportovní areál Hamr in Prague 10 - Zabehlice (Zabehlicka street).

The draws for both men and women (including qualification draws which were made today) could be found on PSA website here.
The tournament starts on Thursday September 24 with qualification. Both men´s and women´s qualifications have 16 player draws with 4 winners going to the main draw. First round of qualification will start at 10:00 with women´s matches on 4 courts. Other women´s matches will follow at 11:00. Men will play their first round at 12:00 and 13:00 (4 courts as well). Qualification finals will be played later in the evening at 18:00 and 19:00 (women on 2 courts) and 20:00 and 21:00 (men on 2 courts). The qualification draws will be made according to the PSA rules one day before. It means we will have the draws on Wednesday evening.
The main draws will start on Friday September 25 with exactly the same time schedule as qualification the day before. We will have two rounds on Friday with women starting their first round at 10:00 and 11:00 (4 courts) with men following at 12:00 and 13:00 (4 courts). Quarterfinals will be played in the evening at 18:00 and 19:00 (women on 2 courts) and 20:00 and 21:00 (men on 2 courts). You can see the main draws on PSA website.
Semifinals will be played on Saturday September 26 in the afternoon. We will start with two women´s semis at 14:00 and 15:00 and men´s semis will follow at 16:00 and 17:00.
The finals will be played on Sunday September 27. Women will start at 15:00 and men at 16:00.
Top seed in men´s tournament is Sebastiaan Weenink from the Netherlands who is currently ranked no. 96 on PSA ranking. His biggest rival should be second seed and local legend Jan Koukal. In the past he usually did really well on home soil and we hope he will do the same this week. 3rd and 4th seeds Douglas Kempsell from Scotland and Daniel Poleshchuk from Israel will try to make it hard for the top two favourites to make it to the final.
There will be other two Czech players in the main draw. Martin Švec will face Jonas Daehler from Switzerland and Daniel Mekbib will play Jan Koukal in local derby. There will be 9 more local players trying to make it to the main draw through qualification. We feel Ondřej Uherka, Petr Martin or Jakub Solnicky have a good chance to do so.
Deon Saffery from Wales is top seeded women. She is currently ranked no. 46. Natalie Grinham from the Netherlands is just two places below her but she is the biggest star of the draw as she was ranked no. 2 in the world for long time, she was a runner-up in the world open three times . 3rd and 4th seeds are Mayar Hany from Egypt and Victoria Temple-Murray from England.

Po přihlášení klubu je možné provádět registraci klubu pro příslušnou sezónu (registrovaní hráči, neregistrovaní hráči, družstva, soupisky), žádat o pořadatelství turnajů, zadávat propozice turnajů, potvrzovat přestupy a hostování hráčů, zadávat výsledky z ligy a turnajů a komentáře a hodnocení uspořádaných turnajů.
